UP raises retirement age of govt docs from 62 to 65

The Yogi Adityanath cabinet in Lucknow has approved a new retirement policy for doctors, allowing them to retire at the age of 65 instead of 62. Under the new policy, doctors can choose to retire voluntarily or give up administrative positions and continue working as a medical professional for three more years. Doctors on administrative posts will still retire at 62. This decision will affect around 14,000 doctors working in government healthcare facilities, addressing the shortage of doctors in the sector.
