Madhya Pradesh elections: Despite focus on female voters, BJP, Congress give under 15% seats to women

Both the BJP and Congress are targeting women voters in the Madhya Pradesh assembly election, but neither party has a strong female leader to influence the 2.72 crore women voters in the state. The BJP has implemented women-centric schemes and will rely on Union minister Smriti Irani to attract women voters, while Priyanka Gandhi Vadra leads the Congress campaign. The Congress has given tickets to 30 women candidates, while the BJP has fielded 25. In the 2018 election, more women-dominated constituencies were won by the Congress.
